I understand what you are saying Rebel. I haven't been to a meeting in about 5 years I think. I left it behind a long time ago, although I'm just coming to realise what they are responsible for as well. Maybe your right, we'll see. I'll chew it over I think, don't believe in being too hasty.

Spiritual GIANT, or Mental MIDGET???
by LDH inthere was once an elder in our congregation, he and his wife were regular pioneers, of course.
and of course, they cleaned windows for a living.. they lived in the basement of a decades old building, in what amounted to a studio apartment.
i think the square footage was about 8. church mice could've loaned these two money.. of course, being a young jw and believing most of the malarkey you are told, you tend to look up to these men as spiritual giants, even though most of what they talk about is pure, unadulterated bullshit.. let me give you an example.. k* and d* always enjoyed their coffee.

Thanks for the advice. It wouldn't effect me much family wise, although I do have neices and nephews that I wouldn't want to lose contact with, I think this may happen on one side but not the other but you never know how people are going to react do you once they are given so-called 'advice' ?
The thing is I've always been a nice enough guy and I've been happier than ever leaving the teachings of the WTS behind. People notice I'm much more 'with it' and balanced even the witnesses I very occasionally meet. I'd never treat them badly if I met them, even the elders, because I don't believe this would achieve anything. I totally ignore the religion thing, I just like to be friendly like anybody else. If they brought it up I would tell them how I felt about it though. Same with my family, I'd never bring it up [this is very hard though sometimes, I really have to bite my lip but what would it achieve if I did] unless they give me an unbalanced ear bashing then they've got to expect the same in return, so they don't ever bring it up, anymore. I think if I DA'd myself it also might make people think cos people know what I'm like but I wouldn't hold my breath. -undecided- By the way I never thought they'd still have control in some way, this makes me just think I should 'get rid' completely.

Walking on eggshells.
by foreword inwhy is it that anyone who ventures on this site and tries to defend the watchtower is immediately shot down and flamed for being blind and unrealistic?.
and anyone who can come up with proof that the watchtower is evil gets applauded for finding these facts.. some have wandered onto this site trying to defend their faith, even if at the time they didn't know the truth about the truth, and have immediately been labeled as a troll and showed the door.
i've seen threads where these individuals have been treated like total idiots and insulted (to put it in a mild manner), yet nothing was done to reprehend the insulters.

I think a lot of JW's read this board, probably some I've known at some point.
I don't think they could help themselves if they were into the internet and such like but I wreckon it's like another planet to them and what they are used to. I mean we all have free speech here, something that JW's would love. I just don't think they post anything. Message - 'YOU GOT THE FEAR'

Many Jw's who come on this site don't want just to talk.
They seem to forget that a lot of people here have religious and personal beliefs that they follow with much personal satisfaction more so than when they were being 'instructed' by the WTBTS organisation [God forbid] because they are doing what's right for them and leading balanced lives.

JW Friendly
by be wise inhi, be wise here going through a late wbts phase.. i've chosen for a long time to just ignore everything i was taught and turn my back on the whole jw thing for a long time now [this didn't help in the slightest].. it's only since i got on the web and got past that 'initial' fear of questioning things that i've started to mend.
i'm only just starting to look at what kind of society i've been indoctrinated by for most of my life and believe me it isn't good.
i've just been on randys website all night i haven't slept a wink but it was worth it.
